RUSSIA’s flag carrier Volga-Dnepr continued compliance with Australia laws on aircraft noise has meant its freighter flights using AN-14 and IL-76TD-90VD have continued with its AN-124-100 topping its 12th flight of the year.
The group’s commercial director for charters, Dennis Gliznoutsa said its ability to keep operations running since the Australian government enforced laws earlier in the year has meant that outsize and heavyweight cargo services continue as normal.
“Special permits have always been required for AN-124 flights to Australia and we have continued to gain these by satisfying the national aviation requirements,” Mr Gliznoutsa, adding that he does not anticipate any legislative barriers will hamper Volga-Dnepr’s services to and from Australia.
