No Wi-Fi trouble on subway

Shanghai Shentong Metro Group said Sunday that its subway operation system has not suffered any problems from Wi-Fi interference. The question came up after a subway train in Shenzhen intermittently stopped Thursday due to Wi-Fi signal interference from handheld devices.

China’s road and waterway investment down nearly 10pc to US$21.1 billion

CHINA recorded year-on-year fall again after June of 0.9 per cent in the investment on road and waterway fixed assets, to CNY134.2 billion (US$21.1 billion) in July.

Investment on road facilities increased 0.7 per cent to CNY119.5 billion. Investment growth was 0.3 per cent faster than in June.

Chinese automakers build overseas plants

After shipping their vehicles for years to conquer markets outside China, Chinese automakers are now speeding up their overseas expansion by establishing local production plants.

Chinese media reported that during his visit to China, Pongsawat Svasti, Thai minister of industry, talked to Chen Zhixin, executive vice-president of SAIC Motor Corp Ltd, about the possibility of a joint venture between SAIC and a Thai car maker in the Southeast Asian country.
